Dog Walking

Will I get to meet you before?

Absolutely! Before taking on any new dog, a free home consultation will be arranged to allow me to learn all about them and vice versa! During the meeting we will go over our dog walking agreement and other relevant paperwork. It also gives you the chance to see our credentials and ask any further questions!

Will my dog be walked off lead?

All dogs will be walked exclusively on lead to begin with while we build our relationship. Dogs will only progress to off-lead walks in suitable areas if you have provided us with a signed consent form. Long lines will be utilised until such time that I am confident in their ability to recall to me.

Do I need to be home when my dog is collected?

No! You will be asked to complete a key holder and home entry agreement which outlines how you wish for me to collect your dog. If you choose to provide me with a spare key, this will be held securely at all times.

How many dog will be in a group?

The number of dogs in a group will limited to 6. Before joining a group, new dogs will go through a period of solo walks to allow us to become accustomed to each other. These will need to slot around existing walks so will not necessarily be on the same day or time as they would eventually when they've progressed into their group slot.

What will you do in case of emergency?

In the unlikely event of an emergency, I will contact the owners as soon as safe to do so. The name and contact information of the vet practice are requested on the client information sheets during the initial consultation so if the situation requires it I can contact them on your behalf and transport them to the surgery if need be. I am also canine first aid trained and carry a first aid kit with me on every walk.

What happens on my dogs walk?

What I strive to provide for all of my dogs is a walk which is physically and mentally enriching. I do this by adding structure into our walks. We will work on fundamental aspects of training including loose lead walking, recall and neutrality towards other dogs and a variety of environments - in addition to ensuring they get to sniff and zoom and do all of the things they enjoy safely!

Can I cancel?

Absolutely, I just ask for as much notice as possible. Full payment of the scheduled service will be required for any cancellations made with less than 24hours notice.

How do we pay?

Payments are due by the end of each week and can be made via bank transfer.

Do you offer weekend walks?

So long as I'm available, I'm happy to accommodate walks in the evenings and weekends upon request.
